Chapter 7
1. As it is applied to design texture is how something is felt by our sense of touch. It can add richness to and detail to an image without altering the composition of the design. It can be used to make empty space more interesting and to add a sense of perspective. It can be used to define the style of an entire design piece.
2. Texture can be used to create detail in an image by mirroring the what we would see or feel in the real world. By adding texture we can determine that a rock is rough or that a piece of metal is slick.
5. Filters in imaging software are predefined tools that allow a designer to create textures simply clicking a mouse.
7. Scale of a texture can affect the focus of an image. If the scale is too large it will cause the focus of the image to seem less important and smaller. If the scale of the texture is too small the texture may be distracting taking eye of the focus in the image.
